LEAD+ PuenZhi Academy
PuenZhi Training Institute
Practical, Bhutan-grounded training for governance, civil society, and social innovation.
Our Vision
To be a leading center of excellence for capacity development, advancing inclusive and sustainable development and social innovation in Bhutan and beyond.
Our Mission
To deliver high-quality, practical, and context-specific training, facilitation and advisory services that empower individuals, strengthen institutions, and enhance development effectiveness.
Why PuenZhi Exists
Training Grounded in Bhutan
Bhutan's development landscape is changing fast, local governments are taking on more responsibility, civil society is more active, and the bar for accountability and results keeps rising. Much of the training on offer is either too general or not fully grounded in the Bhutanese context.
PuenZhi Academy responds to that gap with practical, experience-based learning shaped by practitioners, not just academics, drawing on decades of fieldwork in governance, facilitation, research, and project implementation.
The institute also continues a legacy: as HELVETAS Bhutan phases out, its institutional knowledge is transitioning here too, including a curated archive of Bhutan's development journey since the 1970s.
Based in Changangkha, Thimphu Thromde.
